About Me
I received my new IBM PC in 1985 and thought to myself…”I gotta figure out how this thing can help me with my college exams”. That PC and the years that followed would define me and the personal computer industry in general. With a fresh degree in Finance from my local university, Elon College, I started my first gig as the CFO of a startup called Coach’s Choice. That startup became one of the first players in sports branding and licensing and eventually the model that others such as Reebok and Nike would follow.
After leading Choice’s Choice to a successful acquisition, I joined Andersen Consulting’s (Accenture) Management Consulting Practice and spent 7 years as a management consultant helping Fortune 1000 companies with executive, process and technology issues. With the 90?s raging towards total internet domination, I got the chance to work for a startup in Seattle, WA that would soon become acquired by Microsoft and become a part of the First Search Era: Human-Powered Search (1997-2002). Search results were still powered by humans as well as Inktomitechnology (for those of you who wondered where it all began). Microsoft introduced MSN Search under the direction of my boss Bill Bliss and started down the path of developing the Second Search Era: Crawler-Based Search (2003-2006).
Well in order to keep this bio short, I’m sure you probably know the rest of the story of how a small upstart called Google changed everything in a few short years.
Today I live in sunny south Florida where in 2007 I started an online marketing company that eventually became New Epic Media. Armed with a solid strategy and a couple of good friends, Steve Blackburn and Josh Gill, our plan of total world domination has begun. With our ever growing talented team, we fight for search marketing inequities, promote the right that everyone must have a good cup of coffee, and have as much fun as humanly possible along the way.
